Sometimes our blog doesn’t relate to things we love outside of the world we like to post about - kids. Besides our work as a stylist and a blogger, we have other interest, such as photography. As sales manager at one of the biggest creative agencies in The Netherlands and rep of renowned and very talented photographers and illustrators I (Rachel) had the honor of hosting a book launch yesterday.
Where They Create is project that photographer Paul Barbera started in 2006. Since he travels around the world extensively, Paul comes across many creative people. And so he started shooting the studios of people whose work he loves and whose space he likes. For the book that was published a year ago, but was never launched in The Netherlands properly, Paul chose 32 studios which form a diverse selection of his work. Featured are media companies like the magazine Wallpaper* and fashion houses such as Acne, as well as artists, architects, illustrators and designers from all over the world.
A few months ago, Paul joined Unit c.m.a. and I have the pleasure of working with him on a regular basis. Not only is he a fantastic photographer with a very stylish signature and an exquisite eye for detail, Paul is also a very nice guy. He surounds himself with inspiring and warm people and yesterdays book launch was truly great.
I would also like to thank Marlein Overakker from Wandering Banquets for the most fabulous food and presentation and Alex Onderwater (editor of the book) for helping us organise this soft book launch and bringing her own private DJ!
Thanks Paul! - Rachel.
